Poem: Does it Really Make A Difference if Your Heart Is In Tact?(01/03/11)

Height doesn't matter when you have a vintage smile,
Remisicent of Humphrey Bogart,
Ole' bogie and his million dollar smile,
Toothy yet shy,
Sly yet sweet,
Sweet yet flattering,
The perfect combination of being a man,
And,
Being vulnerable,
Yes,
Height doesn't matter when you have a vintage smile.

Height doesn't matter when you have almond eyes,
Reminds one of the soft brown an almond exudes,
The way it's shape is a pointed oval,
Pops into the mouth with simplicity,
Never overwhelming taste buds,
Yet just the right consistency of salt,
And,
Sweetness,
And,
Crunchiness,
Yes,
Height doesn't matter when your eyes are almonds.

Height doesn't matter when your words shimmer,
Shimmer like the moon's light bouncing off lake michigan,
The way light creates an oil painting in night's darkness,
Even though,
You know you'll never have perfection,
Yes,
Height doesn't matter when your words shimmer.

So,
To those of you who dread being short,
Being too tall,
Read this little poem,
Look deep within your chest past bones and organs,
And you'll see height doesn't matter when you're you

Sometimes It Takes One Moment To Realize It's Time To Live

She can take a bad day,
Shake it up,
Flip it right side up,
Work magic with the click of a button,
Spectacular, spectacular!

She can put everything into perspective:
Why do people have to die?
                                              And
                       Broken hearts do mend,
                                               And
Sometimes all you can do is breathe,
Work wonders in a 4:34 time frame,
Spectacular, spectacular!

She can move hearts with sweet melodies,
And,
Sick beats,
Back-ups for,
Intricate words weaving in and out of notes,
Spectacular, spectacular!

She can send chills down a spine,
Send tears down dry faces,
Cause movements,
And,
Revolutions,
And change.

Spectacular she is, spectacular she'll be!

Don't Weep For The Past Cause' It Aint Weeping For You

Now is the time to let the past go,
For it tends to hold us back from dreams come true,
Hold us back from fairy tales come true,
Tends to push the heart,
The mind too,
Into a frenzy of worries,
Worries of presents repeating pasts,
Yes,
Now is the time to let the past go,
Take that brick off the chest,
Do it now,
Replace it with living for today,
Not yesterday,
Not tomorrow,
Today,
Because now is the time,
While our hearts are still youthful with forgiveness,
And strength,
And slight childhood notions of things working out,
And,
Good people exist,
And,
Love,
Just let it go for the sake of letting go.

Untitled (Originally written 11/30/10)

She holds onto the memories,
Of the first soul who touched hers,
Even if,
She,
Barely grazed his,
Memories,
Of,
Awkward first meeting,
The way he snuck his hand into hers,
Cold fingers mingling with toasty warm ones,
Connections,
And the first kiss,
The way it felt like a scene from a chick flick,
Lips moving towards the others' slowly,
But surely,
An explosion between tongue fights,
Connections,
And the first sensual moment,
The way passion intertwined with modesty,
Both balancing out as Carmel body,
Pressed against,
Cream body,
Smooth like lotion on skin,
Connections,
Even if,
His memories,
Consist of,
Nothing but specs,
A kiss,
Meaningless handholding customary of first dates,
And,
Fucking,
Yes,
She holds onto memories,
Cause,
Memories are all you have,
Once the heart is broken,
Memories of sweet connections are all that remains.

" The Act of Missing is the Art of Moving On"

It's okay to miss me,
Dont cry too much,
For although I'm gone for now my presence comes back,
Like that favorite song that fades but comes back around,
Once you put the cd back in and hear its sweet notes again,
Yes,
It's okay to miss me,
The way I became a crutch for you to lean on,
How many nights I spent keeping your bed warm,
For although I had to leave without warning,
Like a solider being called for duty,
I always come back,
Yes,
It's more than okay to miss me,
Miss you and me,
Miss us,
For just when you pick yourself up and forgive me,
Free yourself of my absence,
I'll be back,
I promise.

"The Eastsiders"

We are late night pizza deliveries,
There for hazy eyed appetites,
Ready to fill the already heavy belly.

We are moonlit beaches,
Reflecting off a black abyss,
An oil painting.

We are city lights,
Neon greens,
Stop, yield, go!

We are the night owls,
Drifting through day,
Waiting for nightfall with sweet anxiety,
Night owls, we are!

Moving On

We were going to see the world together,
Explore the unknown with our hearts guidings us,
Take it all on,
Us.

But while my heart was ready for a sweet adventure,
Even tore down its walls that were built so high,
You were busy guiding your heart down some other path,
With,
Someone else's heart,
You and her.

My heart sank,
As most do when reality sets in,
Wanted to wish the worst on you two,
You and her.

But,
This heart is moving on,
Calling it quits,
Guiding itself in some other direction.

Just think twice,
Think wise,
Before you promise the world,
Only to,
Give dirt.
