Think About It While You're Worried It Won't Work

Home is late night giggles,
Cuddling that,
Leads to,
Fucking,
To,
Sleeping next to strength holding on tight.

Home is where you dwell,
Not a space,
A box,
To throw your dirty socks in for the night.

What is a home without love,
And,
Warmth,
And,
Bodies keeping bodies close?

My home is wrapped up in blankets and pillows,
Cats sleeping between blanketed cracks,
Toes curled up,
Hiding from winter's air peeking through basement doors,
Its kissing him on the cheek while he sleeps,
Petting his beard gently,
Smiling at a sleeping body before the day begins.

Home is who you're with,
Not where you are.

Don't Lose Hope

Sometimes people turn into monsters,
The reflection in the mirror doesn't like what's looking back,
Dark circles crowd eyes trying to stay open,
Hair falls on shoulders,
A greasy mess.

Sometimes we can save them from it,
Pull them out of darkness,
Into the brightness of hope,
Shake the monster out.

Most times we have to let self destruction happen,
Watch people fall off the cliff,
Let go of the person they were.

Its hard letting go,
But,
Its even harder trying to save someone who doesn't want to be saved,
Or,
Can't.
